People in a bright community skills classroom

Community

More than a programme page.

Initiatives, volunteering, local partnerships, youth, skills and the stories that prove the work is human.

Programmes

People places prosperity, in that order.

Youth pathways

Climate labs, site tasters and paid traineeships for 18–25 year olds who want to build the places they live in.

Women's enterprise

Peer circles, micro-grants and workspace for women starting care, food, making and retrofit businesses.

Skills on site

Every live project carries a training shed, retrofit, joinery, planting, digital and site safety.

Local enterprise

We ring-fence spend for neighbourhood suppliers and help them tender. Wealth that stays put.

Volunteering

A few hours that compound.

Open days, planting, mentoring, events. We train, we feed you, we do not waste your time. Under-18s are welcome with an accompanying adult on family days.

Offer your time

Site welcomers

Help residents on open days, pour tea, and make a building site feel like a street.

Garden stewards

Planting days on greenways and rain gardens. No expertise required, we teach.

Skills mentors

A few hours a month with trainees. Trades, professional services, and life admin all needed.

Event crew

Workshops, fundraisers and launches. The people who make the room work.

Partnerships

Local authorities, housing providers, colleges, clinics, and the group that already meets in the hall.

We do not land in a neighbourhood and invent a network. We join the one that exists, then add capital, design and delivery muscle. If you are already doing the work, we would rather sit beside you than in front of you.

Community stories

What it felt like, not just what we counted.

Leeds · August 2026

Keys, kettles and a street that talks again

Amira hosted the first Riverside open house. Twenty-six neighbours came. Two had never spoken.

Birmingham · July 2026

The first apprenticeship seat

Jordan had been out of work eleven months. He is now setting out timber on Oak Hub, and teaching the next intake.

Manchester · June 2026

After the flood, a garden that holds water

North Greenway's rain gardens took a 1-in-30 storm in May. The school field next door stayed dry.
